Taejang Profession: Elder Druid Level: 174 Posts: 62 | I've seen odd bouts of lag off and on the last few days. It doesn't seem to last long. At one point tonight, Kara couldn't do anything for roughly 45 seconds. At the same time, I had no issues. The rest of the evening passed with nothing unusual. A few days ago, I was kicked once but was able to come right back in (and Kara wasn't kicked). Beyond that it has just been an occasional minute or two of kinda lag, before things clear up. Seems like maybe the server has an update process running in the background, or some other short event that hogs resources for a minute and then disappears. I'm not sure if the logs show enough detail to track it down without a specific time and date to look at; I'll try and remember to post an exact time for reference when I see it next. |

Were you and Kara behind the same internet? If not, the fact that your problems don't seem to match up seems to suggest it might be your own internet connection receiving issues. |

Taejang Profession: Elder Druid Level: 174 Posts: 62 | I wondered about that, but did a speed test and it came out pretty normal on ping, download speed, and upload speed. No unusual processes in the background here. I talked to the only other player on at the same time (forget his name, I haven't seen him around as much) and he said he didn't have any lag. If nothing is up with the server, and it isn't consistent between players in different locations, perhaps its something with providers and the routing between us and the server. Next time it happens, I'll do a tracert and ping, see if anything is fishy. I may also clear my router's cache or perhaps try a different DNS server or two, see if anything I can do on my end has any effect. |
